makes you wonder who would be silly enough to let it go. especially at that price. well, it found a good home where it will be well- loved. there should be a sewing machine shelter for unwanted sewing machines where they can be adopted and taken to a loving home.

that's the sad part. it was his wife's (she actually had another one that he already sold). it was too awkward to ask, but i'm assuming she has passed on as it looked like he lives in the back room of one of the children's homes.

he told me as i was leaving that he has boxes and boxes of fabric to go through, if i know of anyone that needs/wants it. said 'she' was a quilter. i think i'm going to call him and offer to help him sort through it, take pictures, price it and get it out on craigslist. i have some time next week while dd is in school.

i'm sure she's looking down from heaven and knows i'll enjoy it (her name was Beverly - on the warranty registration card).

that would be a very kind thing to do.
i think ending up living in your kid's back room is worse in some ways than losing your spouse. in addition to appreciating the help, he will also appreciate the company and the chance to talk about his wife.
