    As I mentioned earlier, my inspiration for the designs themselves is Cosmatesque architecture. Actually, the first one was meant to mimic the floor mosaic of the Cosmati Pavement in Westminster Abbey, so you (being in the UK) are definitely much closer to be able to look at the mosaic in person. (I only had photos off the Internet). The second one also came from Cosmatesque architecture.
    I drafted both of them by hand, using the techniques that Lisa Calle' teaches. The stitching is all hand-guided (no computer for my LA).
