    I always sew my binding on the back then turn it over and stitch it down with a small zig zag stitch. The small zig zag shows less than a straight stitch. I put the zig on the quilt and the zag on the binding. This past week was the first time in 40 years that I did one by hand. I just wanted to see if I would enjoy the hand work. It is too hot to enjoy having a quilt on your lap hand stitching.

    The quilt is gorgeous. Love stained glass

    Pretty quilt - she will love it!. I do my binding both ways depending on the mood...they both accomplish the same thing.

    I've done it that way on purpose too. When I do that, I use a decorative stitch on the front.
