I hope she appreciates the fact that you tried to make something that she would really like. I agree with everyone else it's a very nice looking quilt.

[quote=k3n]Jenell - what an ugly brown quilt, I'm sorry for you having to work with those hideous fabrics! OK, is that better?

Finally some agreement! LOL Oh it was hideous too! I had named it Sticks and Stones because there was so much tree and rock and bushes fabrics but like all things, it's real name evolved. I should have named this topic "The quilt I didn't love' so people would post their pictures too.

You all are very kind with all your compiments. I guess I should have been here sooner so you keep me motivated on with this one. It took me a year and a half to finish this one.

I have to agree with many here in that I love it as well. Lately I have been drawn to earth tone quilts. Have never done one and every one I see I seem to like. I love the pattern you chose as well.

it's really pretty, do you know the name of the pattern? I am making my DD a quilt in browns and that pattern is really cool looking and I think she will like it better than the one I pick out.

Just showed it to my DH and he really likes it too! The squares seem to float - it's a great 3D effect! Sorry Jenell - you'll just have to go make a REALLY ugly one!

You may not like the quilt, but I have to say--it's actually really nice. Not enough color for me, but what a great quilt...for someone who loves brown, it's on the mark! :)

I think that is a really beautiful quilt!!! The colors compliment each other so well. And the pattern, even though you just, to paraphrase your words, threw it together...

Downloading it on dial-up. I am saving it because I have made only two quilts so far and I think they are ugly too. so maybe we are just a tad too critical of ourselves. even tho you didn't like the colors it looks great and you did your best. YOU ROCK!

I love your quilt! Looks so warm and inviting--like coffee and chocolate all mixed up together! Having said that, I know how hard it is to work on a quilt when you don't like the colors. You must love your mom a lot!
