I LOVE it! I use a lot of brown in my house. My kitchen remodel will be all earth tones. My bedroom is cream and shades of brown. Looking at my rooms.........I guess everything is some shade of brown ;-) I'd take that quilt in a heartbeat! I was looking at it wondering if I could copy it. How many different fabrics are in it?

That quilt is drop-dead gorgeous! i have a pattern very similar to it and if I recall, the pattern name is Twist and Shout. It is string-pieced on a 10" muslin foundation block. I'll try to find it in my (as-yet-unorganized) sewing room and post the pattern name and manufacturer the next time I log in.

I think the quilt is beautiful and if that is your mother's favorite color, she should be thrilled. We don't always work on colors that are "confortable" to us, but that does not mean they are ugly"! Does the pattern have a name and where can it be found??

Oh my, I think there are at least 30 different fabrics in here. I bought so many browns, then even bought 2 sets of brown variety strips on ebay.

If any of you want my explanation, just pm me your email and I will send it on. I'm no good at tutorials but I can give you the general idea of how it went together.

I am just amazed at all of your postitive comments here! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just hope Mom likes it as much as all of you do!

Well, let me tell you...! If brown is her color, she will be in raptures over the quilt! You did beautiful work, and the way you laid it out...WELL, let's just say I am green with envy!
