I do the same thing, make my binding as soon as the quilt top is finished. Because several times I made the mistake of using left over fabric for another project and did not have it for the binding. I put it in zip loc bags and have a special drawer in my cabniet that I put it. What ever works. Marge

cute idea.
I really like the idea of having a visual of the last part...provided you have already done your label...seems having the binding there waiting patiently on me, says, "I will be a quilt, I will be a quilt...and soon. I will sit here patiently, waiting my turn, and loving me the way you do, you will not let me go to the orpanage of ufo's, just to be passed by, time and again, for newer, prettier fabrics..."

quiltncrazy--that was an awesome story. :D
I'm good about getting the binding sewed on--but doing the hand part? That's a different story... there are at least 4 projects hanging on chairs in the library waiting for the finishing touch. Dang--I hate that part! It requires sitting still for way too long.

Barnbum, when I hand sew the binding, I get books on tape/CD and get read to while I do it and the time passes by really quickly. I don't have to look up, as I would for a movie. Next thing I know. I'm done!! Try it. My library has oodles of books on tape/cd for free!!!
