Sunday was my birthday, and DH got me a Kindle! I remembered some photos and a link (http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/05/bookkeeper.html) to a tutorial for making a Kindle keeper, so of course, I had to make one for my new Kindle.

I changed it a little, but essentially followed most of the directions. I also made one for my DIL, for Christmas.

    Here's mine:

Kindles are great for those of us who love to read. I don't have to worry about storing books I've already read!

I know what you mean. I resisted for a long time. However, I really like to read, a lot. I have run out of shelf space for books. I started reading ebooks on my computer, but I like to curl up in a comfy chair to read too. The Kindle makes that possible, and I don't have to store the books on shelves.

I've had a Kindle for about a year, and I love it! You can also get a version of Kindle for some phones. Because of my job I spend lots of time waiting in lobbies, and since I always have my phone with me, I always have something to read--check that out on the Kindle site.

I've made the Moda covers for myself, my husband, and several friends. I got both my daughters Kindles for Christmas (sssshhhhh!), so I made covers for them, too. The new Kindles are a bit smaller than mine is, so I had to re-do the pattern a bit. Neither one of my girls is quilt-crazy (brats!), so I made covers with just one fabric for the inside and one for the outside, then quilted them in different ways and added a decorative button to hide the Velcro. I'm quite pleased with how they came out. I think what you did on the inside of yours is adorable!

By the way, there are a lot of free books available on the Kindle site--check it out! Some of them aren't half bad!

The link to the pattern is not there. I have a Kindle and made me a cover but would like to make another one.

You're right, the link doesn't work. However, if you go to the Moda Bakeshop main page, you can use the search function (search for kindle) and you can find it that way.

Did you know that you can download the Kindle program for the PC and read books on your computer. Also, Amazon has lots of free older books. I am enjoying rereading books I haven't thought about in years.
