Border Collies are so affectionate! I marvel at how our dogs have acclimated to new grandchildren. Lucky can be bouncy as Tigger, but get him near any of the grands and he's as still as can be. Just love this breed of dog, but they need exercise and space to be.

She was the perfect dog ... not too much b.c. and not too much of ??? Boy, do I miss her!
That's the heartbreaking part of pet ownership. I had a tiger cat for 13 years. He's been gone 3 years and I still miss the little fart almost daily. The benefits outweigh the grief though!

They certainly benefit from a good romp out in the country!

My sister is in a group of Border Collie Rescuers, I thought I might offer to do some pillows, wall-hangings for them.
My avatar is my rescued border collie. A great cause.
Indeed it is! At this time sis has 2 rescue BC, but she also fosters for adoptees in transit. It is heart-breaking to hear some of the stories. But when they receive loving homes it makes it extra special!
My son found a red/white border collie and I just had to have my own. I could not believe how many were up for adoption and the stories are heartbreaking. I fell in love with my boy (Cartwright) and wish I could have had them all.

It's one of those situations where people think they want a dog and not do the research. Yes BC's are great dogs, but in many ways are very high maintenance. Hat's off to those who go the extra mile with them.
