I've been working on this 9 Patch and Stripe variation, and after much fretting over the layout I finally decided on one :-) Instead of making 2 smaller quilts, I combined the positive and negative squares, hence the challenge of the layout. I'm waiting on more of the tan fabric to come in for the setting triangles and corner triangles, so parts are sewn into rows and then center is all sewn together. I also added more 9 patches along the outside, so the setting triangles are smaller than the pattern/instructions I have - darn if I can't leave well enough alone  The up side is I had enough left over blocks to piece a runner for my antique blanket chest.

I'm not sure of the border treatment yet; I'll need to lengthen it top and bottom, but I'll cross that bridge next week  I really need the setting triangles in place to calm down the pattern before I can make sense of any border ideas.

Any suggestions and/or ideas are welcome, and please don't hesitate to tell me if a block is placed wrong - I've been staring at this for a while, and its all starting to morph together for me!

Thank you all so much for your kind comments - I really do appreciate them! Izy, you win the prize! I caught the bottom left just after posting the picture (DH admitted knocking it down and putting it up - it just needed turned around.) Thank goodness those are just sewn into rows, and not joined yet. Don't tell him, but I'm gonna pin them to the design wall until I get done
