How fortunate you are to have your folks so close and that you get to hear him practice every day! Wow, what a gift!
About the radio show, isn't it fun listening to family on the radio! I have a cousin who has a radio program broadcasting from a college in northern Minnesota every Monday evening. I listen to her on streaming audio and get to request something every week! It makes the world smaller and we get to keep in touch. She does a variety show with lots of local artists, gospel, and country music. It makes my heart sing! She also goes around to nursing homes and takes her accordian to play whenever she can. She has a band that plays lots of dances all around the north country! She tells about all the snow there and the cold temps! Brrrr.

Your quilt is wonderful. Your Dad is going to be so happy when he gets his birthday present.

And he's going to know just how much his Daughter loves him.

    You are very special.

Mary Jane, what a great quilt you have made for your dad!!!! I think it is so neat that you were able to find those guitar fabrics to use. Your dad is really going to love it and I think he is going to have sweet nap dreams under it. Happy birthday to your dad!!

I've begun quilting now. I'm using masking tape to draw different size squares in each block. For example, I've used 1/4 inch in some, 1 1/2 inch in some, 3/4 etc. It really has a nice effect. I'm also using black, red and white threads, which ever I choose for that square. Will post pictures after I finish quilting before I give to him, and maybe one WHEN I give it to him.

    Lisa,
That was a very generous thing for you to say.

When my Grandmother was living (this was Dad's Mom), she used to say I was the prettiest of her granddaughters. One day she told me this and it was after I weighed almost 300 pounds, had grey hair and broken teeth. I have 2 really beautiful, thin cousins that can sing and play the piano and have won talent/beauty contests. I told her "no", I wasn't pretty anymore. She said "Pretty is as pretty does, pretty is on the inside, not the outside." I've remembered that for almost 30 years.

    Thanks for the memory.

Your Grandma was a very wise and truthful woman sweetie! You are one of the most beautiful people I've had the pleasure to meet. It shows in your words, it shows in your creativity and craft, it's honest, pure and comes from your heart. You're awesome!
