    Cute baby! I bet she would kill you for showing her picture at her age. LOL! Kids...
    I love your quilt and the baby dress. The dress especially. Very beautiful hand work there.

    The block looks like a flower spin off from a dresden plate. What do you think? Maybe english paper pieced?? That was popular in those days. They used the newspaper to cut the templets and sewed them together with the paper still attached.

    Quilting runs in the blood in your family, huh? Your daughter gets it from both sides- does she quilt/want to?

    What a precious picture and what a history that goes with it.

    I believe the pattern is Englished Paper Piecing (EPP) and is called chrysanthemums. If you go to www.paperpieces.com you can see all the shapes available for EPP.
