I am thinking that you should be able to use napkins. If they are heavy, you might want to trim off the hems and back them with a stabilizer. I believe that French Fuse would work for this. Then you could sew them down as you would any applique. I used Kona Snow as the backing. It is a light weight fabric and worked well for the hankies. Good luck!

French Mist is a soft woven stabilizer, which will iron to one side. I ironed it to my hankies and then sewed the hankies on the Kona Snow block. If you search "French Fuse", you will find it. Good luck and thank you for your kind words. Yolanda

I found him on Ebay. There are many sellers with beautiful hankies. I would suggest that you buy 100% cotton and pre-wash them before sewing them on to the banking block. Good luck. Yolanda

Bernice! Yes! I did print my label on an ink jet printer then set it with a hot iron. I printed landscape with my drawing ap. I put the triangle in, typed my label and then removed the triangle. The long edge of the triangle was 11" wide. Good luck.

That is absolutely lovely!!! I'm of the fading generation who uses hankies and they are almost impossible to find! But if I use paper tissues I get a raw red nose!!! (Friends who don't use them are glad to donate for the cause of my nose!)
My daughter's neighbor gave her a lot of napkins (her children don't want them and they ignore her anyway). She gave them to me to put in a quilt and if it turns out well we may give it back to her. Has anyone done this with napkins? I'm wondering about the edges... would that have to be unsewn (forget that!) or cut off?
