    No, it is an awesome gift for a teacher. Not only is it a beautiful quilt, Eric Carle is a very popular author and this is his Hungry Caterpillar which every teacher must have.

    I think if you were giving it to someone else, it might not be the best choice for a housewarming gift, but for your DD? It is perfect :) She made it and loves it and I am SURE she will appreciate the gift. I know that I would. There are so many things you need when you are first starting out, paying to have something quilted would be at the bottom of the list. She will LOVE it. You did good Mom!
