That is excellent! Um, how did you get him to cut those blocks out for you? Do you think you could get my husband to do it too?

I guess they are just standard bobbins that you get at Walmart. He alternates between the old Kenmore which uses the metal ones with all of the little holes and the Brother that uses the plastic ones. He likes the Kenmore best, so that would be the metal ones. He uses white thread on all of his tops. I've tried filling a few and having them there for him but he still won't attempt to put them in. He says he's scared to. He's afraid he'll tear something up. that might be just the inspiration he needs to get him going. that would be funny, to have a bunch of quilters sending you bobbins from all over the country so you'll learn how to put them in. I am Ritflmao.

Well, if I remember right, I needed some blocks to finish a quilt in a hurry to make the deadline for the fair entry I was working on, so I asked him if I marked them off, would he cut them out for me. He said he would. The next thing I know, he said if I would show him how, he would mark and cut me some because I had so many scraps that needed to be used. I had him cutting double bit axes, 2 1/2 inch blocks, diamonds, even postage stamp size out of the scraps. (Anything I could use in a scrappy quilt) We started putting them in the plastic shoeboxes you get at Walmart or the Dollar Store. We got so many 2 1/2 inch blocks he decided that he would learn how to put them together to help be use them up. Now he is marking and cutting more so he will have a variety.

Oh he knows how to fill a bobbin! Just like we don't know how to use a hammer. He has you just where he wants you....winding his bobbins. What a keeper! I wish my husband would take up sewing. A wonderful way to spend time together. Lucky you.

I took a picture of the bobbins. I had a new pack of the clear plastic ones. They are for a Singer ever though they fit my Brother. I think most of them are same.

I guess, anyone that is serious about sending him a bobbin can pm me for our address. It is fun to think about but really not necessary. I really don't mind filling them for him. In fact I think it's kinda cute. It just usually happens when I am busy and of course I have to stop and fill them for him. Anyway, this is what they look like.
