It is gorgeous! Your flowers are stunning. I used to decorate cakes, but I never got good at gum paste flowers. I piped almost everything.

How kind of you and it looks just delicious. I love the rolled fondant icing. When I was making cakes years ago now, I loved working with rolled fondant. Beautiful cake, are your flowers made of gum paste? I love the easter eggs on top, and being that shade of blue on the color of cake really makes it pop. But who says that couldn't be a quilt pattern. Anyway, I am sure your friend enjoyed it as much as we enjoy seeing it, and is so blessed having you for a friend. You really did good!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

I think we should all let you know just ahead of time when our B-Days are and you could do each of us a cake and send it on. lol By the way they do travel well through USP if they are in a sturdy box and packed well. I sent a 15th anniversary cake to a dear friend about 30 years ago, with fondant icing and gummy flowers, packed lots of styro around it and made sure it wouldn't shift in the box. It arrived safely and wasn't damaged she said, it arrived in Md. from Tx. in three days or less, can't remember. She couldn't believe I made and shipped her a cake.

Lindsey you will just love the Fondant class. It is really so neat to get to work with fondant. Keep me posted on your progress with the cake decorating classes. I decorated cakes for the public years ago and loved every minute of it. I really had a lot of money invested in my decorating and cake pans. It was so much fun. My children are grown now and live away and I really don't have anyone to do special cakes for. Besides we have a local grocery story that has a Deli and offers decorated cakes and I couldn't compete with them price wise, so I just don't do it anymore. But enjoy and have fun - it's just like quilting make it a fun thing not a chore.
