This was my haul yesterday from Candy's Quiltworks in Northridge, Ca. She has over 10,000 bolts of quilt fabric. It is so much fun to go there and she and her staff are great and fun. I needed fabric for my teapot applique I am working on and I am finally making a quilt for my 14 year old puppy Jake. He definitely deserves a quilt. Everyone was laughing because of the time I spent looking for the right fabric for his quilt. Many of the floral fabrics I bought were on the $5 table min 1/2 yard and then Candy also had all florals 20% off, so I went kinda crazy.

Very pretty fabrics, and Jake will love his quilt. I would go crazy to be in a shop that size, would have to rent a u-haul to bring it all home in.

Love your purchases! You have a good eye. I love the fabric store. We don't have anything that big around here. Would love to shop there.

Oh how cool, I'm drooling just looking at all those marvelous fabrics. I love the fabrics you chose for Jakie's quilt, he'll
be in doggie heaven when he lays down...hehe
If you have fabric left when you finish it you might think of making some smaller kennel mats/quilts for your local shelter. I'm sure they would love to have them and you could donate them in Jakie's honor to share with his canine friends.
    Thanks for sharing.

Great idea Muriel, I was wondering what I could do with the leftover fabric. Thanks. I will do just that. Even if they don't use them at the shelter, maybe they could sell them to raise money.

Oh they will use them I am sure, I know our local shelter is always looking for mats, blankets, quilts etc. When I was crocheting a lot I use to do alot of little blankets for them with scrap yarn. I would walk in there and see little blankets i'd donaten either in the doggie or kitty kennels all the time. I've not made any since I've been quilting more but maybe this summer. I know I plan to take some of my f1/4's and put them together just to use here at home to put in the chair seat and maybe help with some of the fur everywhere.

Beautiful fabric your chose. Jake is going to love his quilt! I have family in The Valley. I'll have to find the shop next time I'm in town.

You will HAVE to post a pic of Jake and his quilt!

I'm trying to get my pulse back under control after seeing her shop. What's the addy/info? I'll definitely have to get another job before going but it'll all be worth it.

There's another huge one in San Diego that's on my wish list to visit too. Rosie's Cupboard or something like that.

Quiltluvr, It is 8549 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA. Where are you located and do you have the info on the San Diego shop, I get there occasionally.

I will definitely send a photo of Jake and his quilt when I finish it. I am actually going to machine quilt this one. Or my friend is going do to it on or mid arm.
