Well I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that the members of this board are grateful to you for your service.
And what kind of person would be so rude as to say they didn't want it? Perhaps a deeply emotionally wounded warrior.

It is a beautiful piece of work and it did wind up with the right owner. :) I believe God made sure of that. I wonder if the seller would be willing to share their story?
Please don't assume the original recipient did not appreciate the thoughts or effort put into the quilt. As a veteran, I can tell you that many members come home and don't want any reminders of what they've seen and been through. They mean no disrespect to those who try to give them quilts, or t-shirts, or albums of newspapers clippings, what have you. They do feel your gratitude, as is expressed in this quilt, but war and some of the acts that go with it can be personally hard to deal with, and some folks can't live with the reminders. At least the person didn't throw it in the garbage, or burn it. There was enough respect to put it on ebay so a caring person could get it. There could be any number of reasons for selling it - please don't judge them harshly.
