    I'm going to start a quilt for my mother in law for Christmas. I need to get on it soon, though, because we're celebrating Christmas early this year, as that is when my father in law will be home on his R&R from Afghanistan. I can't decide on a pattern though! I have a million ideas going through my head! haha[/quote]

    A D9P (disappearing 9 patch) is really easy and looks complicated :)

    For your first quilt, I think you did an A-one job. Plus, you learned lots of things. Look forward to seeing your next project.

    Thanks for the idea! I looked up a pattern, found a layout I like and picked out colours and calculated yardage too! D9P it is!! I can't wait to go shopping. :D
