I took a class from Ruth McDowell. It is her method, but she hated my subject, changed my design(I changed it back).
However, my opinion about the professionals, teachers, and authors methods is that it is just one way. You take a little from each person you know and develop your own style and methods. You do what works...I actually have learned more from the other students in my workshops that I have from the teachers.
But this method of machine piecing is great fun. I have another one in the planning stages. It is my friends front door. You can see a pictuire of it on the home page of my web site. Cant wait to do it in fabric....
I like to teach, but I do it on a one on one basis, because most quilting is a life long learning process. And Im still learning.....

Wow! You truly captured that bowl! The whole quilt is gorgeous! Hard to believe it's your first art quilt. Make more! Is it hand or machine quilted? Either way, the quilting really adds to the beauty of the piece.

Well I am glad you changed it back from whatever that teacher changed it to! (How rude!) It is perfect the way it is!!
Now I want to know where did you take a class on weaving from an old Navajo???
