My first attempt at an Art quilt seeking advise
#23
I have only used steam a seam lite, not familiar with that product. The concept looks great :) keep taking picture and you'll have a nice tutorial. I have done several " art ' quilts' and find them to be so much fun and no rules ;). NP planning just go with it. I would love to see the finished product. My avatar is one of the ones I did by just going for it.

Your avatar is so real looking! Do you have any suggestion on how I can get more definition in my truck? Should I be using more fabrics and dividing up the larger pattern pieces into smaller one? Can you tell I went to bed last night worrying about this? ha!

I am also an admirer of Janice4's work!
About adding more fabrics, consider that if you feel you need more interest or more "movement" within the quilt, then you could use fabric that has more in it, frequently tone on tone or sprinkled with an "off" color, which might be good for an old truck. Stitching could deliniate your truck's doors and door handles and even tread on tires. What Janice said is so true, just go with it without rules ('cause there aint none).
Play with fabric scrapes, or not, and with threads and with the different stitches available on your machine. You've got a fabulous start!!!
