    That is too pretty for a pillow, make more blocks and make a quilt.......It is beautiful and i thought it was machine quilted. Great job, i need to try that hand quilting, i need something to relax.

    Well here is the finished first Hawaiian Block.
    Along with the second one I will start on today!

    Very pretty!!! Looks like the old style traditional Hawaiian quilting has now evolved to using batiks. I've notice that the latest patterns and books are all using batik fabrics as opposed to the traditional solid colors only. Interesting.

    Batiks are just what I had on hand. But they do seem to give an "island" feeling. Do you recommend a book or site that would be best for more traditional quilting/patterns/colors?
    Right now I am mainly practicing my stitches but would truly
    love to learn the "Traditional ways."
