The purple is a zinger - I fear the blue would be boring.

It needs the purple! It makes the other not blend together as much. I think, and this is my opinion, the DNP is best with contrast in it

I really, really like the color purple in your square. What I'm having a problem with is the 'busy-ness' of the pattern - the circles are too big for the rest of the fabrics. I think it's too busy and detracts from the beauty of the trees. Do you have another fabric that color, less busy, that you could use? Maybe a blender or marbled purple? JMHO. I like your block. Don't get rid of the color purple - just that particular fabric. It makes your block pop.

I think first instincts serve us well. Don't overthink it. The purple is wonderful and I can't look at your block enough. You have a lot of responses, and I only read the first 5 pages. It seems that most everyone agrees that you should keep the purple - me included. I wish we had a place to buy that tree fabric and I am so excited to see your end product. Whoever said bind it with the purple is a genius.
