Hi I am too late to join the Dear Jane club too, but I bought the book and am making mine hand pieced the old fashioned way and getting as close to Jane's as I can with the stash on hand. I am almost done with row B and am making them in order. Its never boring as each block is different. I can't wait to see it when its done. I love your choice of colors too. I may want to make that orangy one you have in these pictures. Good luck with yours.

Hi You just make one block at a time and save them in a box. some day you will have them all and can assemble them. If you don't make it a chore, its more fun. I have other quilts going at the same time and I just do these blocks here and there to break up the monotony. But, I guess its not for everyone. I like to do the leisure route and not try to whip it out. I will hand quilt it too. After all this work, I would hate to just throw it on a machine to quilt it. Not that it wouldn't be nice, but just think of how awesome the hand quilting would make it. Who's in a hurry? :) Go for it.

I agree, it does make the whole quilt more fun because each block is different rather than making 50 of the same blocks for one quilt. This is my first sampler type quilt, so I am very excited to get to practice some different techniques. Did you make the quilt hanging in your avatar? If so, then you must have a ton of quilty patience to make such a beautiful applique quilt!!

    Thanks everyone!

Yes, I made the quilt all by hand and hand quilted it. It was in the Paducah, KY show but I was a runner up. It took me years to make. I am glad you like it. I love hand work and I see how its getting left behind with all the machine quilters out there now.

Great job! I envy you! I think this is one pattern i'm intimidated by. I 'll get over it one day and just jump in. For now I'll watch your progress. Keep up the good work!
