I am making my first Dresden Plate quilt and dont know if I should put a plate on the pink squares or just leave them blank,
Which one do you think looks best??
The blocks and plates are just layed out only a couple of the white blocks are sewen.
Just wonder which would look better.
    Thanks for your input.

I think it looks great either way, but since you have the dresden plates made, I would use them.

I vote for putting plates on the pink squares too unless you have some fancy quilting idea for the plain blocks! :D

I would put the plates on the pink squares. Give them a more finished look. I'm so happy to see your Dresden. It is next on my today list. I'm only going to make a table runner with them.

I think it looks too busy; with them on the pink too. Maybe you could just stitch a motif or some design in the middle of the pink squares. But your plates turned out real good.

I was thinking about doing a quilt design with my embroidery machine, but still havent decided on that either...
I want to make up another quilt for a friend for christmas so the dresden plates will be used one way or the other...:)

Most definitely put them in the pink squares also. The plates are so busy that it leaves the pink squares too plain for my liking. Hey - you asked!

Your dresden squares are beautiful. I would not add them to the pink, however when quilting it I would quilt a beautiful circle feather motif in the pink squares.
