How cute is that little guy. I know your Granny will love her new quilt. Also, thank you for giving a short history of the Christmas traditions in your country.

Woo Hoo! Before you know it, you'll be dreaming 1/4" seam allowance!

And number three ... I am really enjoying doing these and I have even had an idea about the quilting ...

I had already decided to do Stitich in the Ditch around the Tomte and the frame (though possibly not the individual curtains and windowsills) and to go around the hat of each tomte ...

I have now photocopied my 'curtains' fabric at 200% and will do so again, and see if I can make a stencil for putting the flower motif (seven hearts around a circle) in each corner of my frames ... where four log cabin patches join together ...

I have never ever quilted before so I don't know how long that is going to take me, so I very much want to get the nine tomtar done by the end of October if possible, though I suspect the end of the first week of November (which is the school half term holiday here) is more realistic an aim.

Bother ... did anyone notice that the log cabin frame around that last one was in the opposite direction from the others ... I've just spent the morning unpicking it and resewing the whole frame!
