Default My first FMQ on a gift (baby quilt)

This is my second project doing free motion quilting, the first time I will be giving my FMQ
work away. This is a baby quilt for a friend's future daughter made from the block "Boston Streets". As a resident, I can tell you that this accurately captures the feeling of navigating around Boston! The daddy does urban planning type stuff in Boston and they picked mostly green colors with animals for the registry.

The squares are 1.5", each block is 15" which made for a 32" square baby quilt. The quilting outlines the friendship stars that show up as a secondary pattern.

The pattern is free at http://www.earlywomenmasters.net/qui...ets/index.html. I found this to be a very interesting pattern, there is 4-fold symmetry to the block but you have to work to visualize it because of the way the pattern tessellates.

Looks great to me. Your quilting enhances the patchwork. Great job

Very cute! Great job on your FMQ! I'm not brave enough to try mine on a project.......I have lots of sandwiches though! Practice, practice, practice! (Speaking to me).

Just do it! Jumping in and doing a project is so much more fun than a practice sandwich!

Nice, bold colors and design. I agree that your quilting enhances the quilt.

Very nice! I really like your colour choice with this pattern and I had to kind of unfocus my eyes to see the secondary pattern. Yes, it does remind me of Boston streets (altho the only time I have visited that beautiful city, it was under a deluge of rain and we had to navigate around several flooded streets). I think you chose the perfect pattern for this quilt and your quilting is great!

And you tuxedo quilt inspector seems to agree with me!
