I think you did well whatever foot you used. I really like the ray type quilting on the corners, it just adds the right touch.

What great texture your quilting gave this quilt.

OK I have to ask.... Is this for someone in particular? I ask because that is such an unusual combo of skulls and butterflies done with purples and paisleys? It really looks cool but definitely speaks of someone with very specific tastes. LOL

I wasn't sure what I thought about it yet when I looked at the photo of the back. I thought I might like it, was still thinking about it a little. Then I moved on and looked at the front
    and I LIKE IT.
One thing I really like is the accordian effect created by the bunching up you described. In my view, that created the personality for your quilt. I really like it.
That purple fabric is awesome You did a good job and I am proud of your FMQ . If you tried to do it again that way on purpose you would probably not be able to accomplish what you did by accident.... :-)

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feed back.
Ok. First I have no quilt frame. So laid it out on the floor and pinned it. That didn't look right so started on one side and repinned it. Alas why it was not as tight as it should have been.
Yes the quilt is for a dear friend in Arkansas. She is the Captain of the RP game I play. An awesome young lady. The skulls are for the game. Her favorite color is purple. And she picked the paisley over another fabric. (O course she didn't know what it was for.LOL) And she does like butterfly's. I already had it purchased when my son said can we have it ready to send by her birthday. July 25.
As to repeating the process. Who knows. Only the quilt fairies can be sure if it will every be repeated.
It was a lot of fun. Learning experience. While I might do it again. Not under the same restrictions.
I only hope that we can make her wait till she is on the web cam so I can see her face as she opens the box. So any one from Arkansas you cant show and tell about the quilt till Aug. 1. Don't want to ruin the surprise. LOL
    Thanks again
