    Jingle is correct. To get the slanted pieces, connect the stripes with diagonal seams, like making binding strips. When I watched the Missouri Star tutorial that is how she did it. Then before you sew the 2 ends together, cut off about 18 inches from the first colored strip so that the slants and nearer the middle to be seen and not on the edges.

    Red face Finally done!

    Well it took me some time but I finished with my Jelly roll race. I found some Moda Flannel that I pieced to make it large enough for the back and I just quilted with a wide zig zag every other stripe. I just turned the back under and sewed for a quick binding. It was hard to machine quilt, with so much fabric but I need the practice and it worked out fine as the quilt police will never see it as my hubby said he thinks it should be for his chair, I am very okay with that.
