Since I have not put any money really into this quilt so far (all left over scraps from other quilts I've done) I don't think that is tooooo bad, is it? I wonder if I can get the batting at Joann's a bit cheaper? I really like the work that these ladies have done on my quilts in the past. And I really don't mind supporting small businesses....
More input ? :)

joannes has lots of different fleece fabrics to choose from; different weights, some are wind proof, some are thin, some are thick, some are solid, some are prints...since you have a coupon to use just go through and see what catches your eye then start narrowing your search by feel and reading the end of the bolt...you want fleece you can wash the same way you will wash the quilt. and when you are backing the quilt remember fleece has stretch. you want to lay it out smooth without stretching it or your quilt will be odd shaped. lots of pins or basting to hold it smooth while you tie it.

I'm not experienced with fleece, but I just wanted to say that I love that you used all your scraps and made such a lovely quilt. Just looking at it will remind you of all the wonderful things you have made in the past. Perfect!

It's a fantastic quilt. Personally, I'd either buy backing and batting and tie the quilt, or save up until you can have it quilted the way you want. I think it's too classy to have a fleece back, and I'm not sure it would stand up the way you'd want it to. Good luck! I'll be interested to see what you decide. I love the quilt! The only LAQ within a few hundred miles of me would certainly charge between $450 and $600 just to quilt a King size quilt. Additional charge for batting, backing and thread. You've got a great deal, sounds like. Congratulations on a wonderful piece of work!
