While we were in Downingtown/Philadelphia, PA area this week I found this pattern for a great beach tote using "pet screen" or nylon mesh window screen. I immediately thought what a nice thank you it would be for our DD's friend who picked her up at the airport on her visit home from New Zealand. Her friend has 2 little boys ages 6 and 2-1/2 years old and they do to the beach in Delaware quite frequently.

So, here is my first nylon mesh tote. DD picked out the material for the bag and at her suggestion, we are going to put a little Flip Flop keychain on the handle and put a pair of glitzy flip flops and some other beachie things in it. We will give it to her when DD returns to NZ as she will leave from Philadelphia as well.

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks, the fabric goes all around to the back and down onto the area of the bottom corners that would take a lot of wear and tear when being used.

I like it!! You can also use the regular nylon screen from home depot.

Absolutely, I mentioned on another thread, that after my DD saw this, she decided she wanted one too. She picked out bright flamingo material, but wanted black screen. That is good because no one in the area carries the colors. I finally found the black at a local hardware store. Same weight and cheaper and was wider. It is also available in colors online at Erica's.
