It sure is a beautiful quilt! I think that all OBW quilts should have at least a 12" square of the original fabric on the back for us curious quilters!!

    You did a terrific job!

Wonderful! I love your placement, the way the pinks fall through the centre of the quilt. And the bright pink inner border with the black outer just makes the whole thing pop. Beautiful! Now, have you started cutting the next one yet? :-D

Can I ask you a peculiar question? When you were doing your layout, did you have the blocks in the vertical layout as you photographed the piece? As I said, the pinks seem to fall through the centre. When I do my layouts, they always come out horizontal on the wall - ie wider than tall, because I can only reach that far up. I just got to thinking if this is effecting the way i do my designs. Might be fun to stand on a chair next time and see what, if any (!) difference this makes! :-D

I lay them out on a flannel backed table cloth pinned to a wall...I was in no particular hurry to get this sewed because i wanted to be sure about how it was laid out...I also use my digital camera and take loads of pictures...the blocks that are in the "wrong" place generally pop out at you in a picture. Eventually i was happy with it. I ruminated about the borders but think simple is best so as not to compete with the center.

I have started another....it is really out there in terms of color, in the true spirit of silly Hallloween things. I have about 2/3 of the hexagon halves sewn...hope to be designing by the weekend...we'll see...it could be a disaster, but the fabric is a hoot!
