Smile My First Pin Cushion Ring

I love pin cushions and I have made several different types. I found this tutorial http://youcancallmegwen.typepad.com/...ingssssss.html to make a pin cushion ring and couldn't resist. I did make mine a little different, I used a hammer and nail to start the holes in the cap, enlarged them with the tips of scissors and filed the rough edges with a rasp. I used a pony tail tie for the elastic which worked fine and I used fabric for the sides of the cap because I didn't have any pretty ribbon that fit. I will be making more of these, I know my DD needs at least one.

I used to have one of those. I loved it and used it all the time. the elastic stretched out and I never got around to repairing it.

I put Velcro on the bottom of mine and on the top of one of the knobs on my machine. Really handy.
