    I made this quilt for a friend. She brought me a sample of her carpet and also a photo of her chair in her bedroom. The poor thing had to make a trip to the quilt shop with me. She is not a crafter so it was misery for her. But she knew the end result would be her quilt so she put up with it well.

    I took graph paper and took the Irish Chain Pattern and redid the edges so the border would allow for whole patterns. It then takes three fabrics instead of two. But my quilting motif I designed for it did not have to be made lopsided on the edges.

    I love the Irish Chain Pattern because it gave me lots of space to quilt.

    This is beautiful. I am sorry your friend was miserable shopping for fabric (I have one like that as well - smile), but the outcome of this gift is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
