    you did a great job and the colors are great. It seems like a lot of people choose the dresden plate as a first quilt.

    Thanks to all of you for the encouraging comments! I followed the Eleanor Burns "Egg Money Quilts" tutorial for this quilt. I have sewed most of my life but it was always clothes and craft stuff, so I decided it was time to make a quilt. Now that I've made one, I'm addicted! There are a lot of mistakes in the quilt, and my seam ripper got a work out, but I think I've learned from that one about what not to do! I did stitch in the ditch for the quilting and stitched around each petal in the plate and around each nine patch square. The one I'm now making for my grandson isn't very complicated so it isn't taking me as long as the Dresden did. Thanks again for your encouragement!
