What an awesome job you did on this quilt. I love whimsical cat quilts. Did you fold over and sew the edges on each piece of applique or are the edges raw? So far I've only done it where you blanket stitch the edges. But I want to do my new quilt differently and I don't know how to do it any other way.

    Thanks,

    Jackie
I did machine blanket stitch on raw edges.
I saw a technique I have been wanting to try. I think needle turn would be to much effort. This one is where you take fusible web and sew right sides together with the fabric on the applique line then trim close and cut a slit in the center of the fusible and turn it right sides out. You press it on an applique sheet to flatten then apply to the block and stitch the edges. This keeps the edges turned under and you don't have the raw edges.

As I said, I have not tried it but it seems a lot easier than the needle turn and you get the turned under edges instead of the raw edge.

If you try it let me know how it works out.
