    I think for your first try this is really good. I doublt I could do this good. I can't even draw two straight lines so I'm sure the transfers from one area to the other would be messy. I love the feather designs and the rest is just practice. You have the right attitude and soon we'll hear you did your first quilt for a client!

    You did freehand feathers on your first quilt? On a new machine, to boot? You are a very talented woman. Way to go. I think you are amazing!

    Oh, by the way, the bottom of the quilt should be pinned to the bottom rail in the picture. You will get a much straighter result. Batting in between the layers just hangs, but both top and bottom of the front and back of the quilt should be anchored. I knowm, I know, lots of rolling and pinning. The results will show it is worth it.
