Wow, your story is impressive, as is your first quilt. And by hand too! I wish quilting kept my mind off food, but it doesn't.

Wow!!! Beautiful first quilt! And beautiful in what it represents to you both. I'm so proud of you and we don't even know each other. Lol! Quilting is a wonderful hobbie and so rewarding. So glad you found joy in something that is a positive experience for you. Get a machine!!! As much as you love by hand, a machine adds more diversity in your craft. And, when you feel like hand sewing, you will have options!!! Good luck to you both in your journey!!!

Wow! Impressive quilt and life-style changes. It's a beautiful quilt. I think you should get that sewing machine. Just think what fun you could have with one. I have a heavy duty Singer. A Walmart buy at $99 that I dearly love. I had one of those expensive computer jobs with all the buttons and flashy things that I didn't like at all.

Great quilt and I think you are just a wonder by doing all that jeans piecing by hand. Jeans material are very tough to sew on a sewing machine, much less by hand. You've got a warm, winter's quilt there.

Welcome from Northern California. Ditto to what everyone has said. I raise my hat to you and your wife. Love the story. More power to you both on your healthy journey. My husband and I are on the same journey and it isn't easy. Would love to see what you can do with a machine. Thanks for telling us your story and for showing your super first quilt. BrendaK
