Hi I wanted to show you the quilts I have done, the first one was a baby quilt
I didn't have a pattern just saw it on the internet and knew I had to do it. I have an embroidery machine and the Alphabet, did them on 6x6 white cotton squares. When I finished with them I took them to the local quilt shop and said I need material for this quilt I gave her the measurements and she asked for the pattern and I said I have none this is my first quilt, her jaw dropped but she helped out I told he the colors and such and she figured the measurements and they worked had some left but I couldn't complain. See pictures .
I have done another one abc quilt but I didn't get pictures of that difference was the backing and wide border I got some white material with abc's on it. Turned out real good. Oh yeah I stitched in the ditch and then tied in between the squares.
The 3rd baby quilt I did was in flannel with embroidery squares. It went to my niece.
Then the next one was one for my Mom. She sent me butterflies that she started when she was 14 years old. Talk about vintage my mom is now 93! The ones on the white and yellow squares are ones that she did the blue and light green I did. I must tell you that I hate hand sewing but I embroidered them on by hand. I had the local quilt shop quilt it for me in the white border is butterflies and in the blue are flowers. Had it done for when she came to visit for the summer. I told her that she always finished projects that I started and now I finished one that she started. She love it. I have a bunch more butterflies left and am thinking about doing another one with different squares. Not sure.
I know they are simple not like the fancy ones that I have seen here, but I was pretty proud of myself. And after seeing all the beautiful ones you all have done it makes me want to try. I really like the looks of the scrappy quilts

    Thanks for looking
    Becky

I can't believe your mom held on to those butterflies for all those years! That is awesome!

Love those vintage butterflies! How special your quilt really is as your mom saved those butterfiles all these years!
