My first ribbon on a quilt

I entered my tulip quilt at the Cattaraugus County Fair never expecting to get a ribbon. I was shocked when I found out I received a second place ribbon for mixed techniques. Applique and paper piecing. the picket fences were paper pieced. I also entered 2 wall hangings but they didn't receive ribbons. At least they hung up all my pieces this year. Inspires me to keep going.

Congratulations! Getting a ribbon is always so exciting and fun. The competition must have been stiff for the wallhangings as both of yours are really nice too. Surprised they didn't win something. The dancing ladies is so colorful and whimsical, I really like it. Is the mare and foal thread painting?
