    Default My First String Quilt! Black + White With Yellow Lattice

    I just finished my first string quilt. It is to be a Christmas present for my niece. I love black and white quilts, and have been collecting black and white print fabrics for over a year--I used over 40 different ones in this quilt. She is an interior designer and uses lots of black and white and yellow, so I hope she likes it. I got some good advice on making string quilts several months ago from you all on this Board, and I really appreciate it. I used Pellon 830 as my foundation (it is a leave-in interfacing) and my long arm quilter said it was really great to work with. I was a little worried it would make the quilt too heavy or stiff, but now that it is quilted I can't tell it is there.

    Wow, that is impressive. I love the illusion of depth it has and that little pop of yellow is just right. Your niece will love it.

    That is a really lovely quilt. You choose the perfect yellow to go with the black and white prints. Beautiful work.

    That is really beautiful. I think the yellow compliments the black/white a lot!
