It's mine, it's mine, it's ALL MINE!!
Well, not actually, it's for my older DD. Neither of my girls like quilts. Jeesh, what's a quilter to do?
Their objections include repetitive patterns, stars, triangles, little pieces, etc., etc., etc. Everything I love, they loathe! What??
I wanted to be able to wrap something around my girl (who moved out of state 4 yrs ago  ), since I can't always wrap my arms around her. When she was home for a visit, we stopped at LQS (for me) on the way to the mall (for her). She showed me some fabrics she liked.
Fast forward a couple of years . No pattern, just cut strips and chunks. Last time she was home, we were talking about our mutual love of paisley. Eureka! I found a fabric that had paisley in the right colors for the backing.
After several messages back and forth with Charisma about quilting, I sent it off. My request was that, if she thought it would work, she follow the paisley in the print on the back. I know NOTHING about LA, except that I love Charisma's work and knew from the pictures she's posted that it would be beautiful either way.
It's been a rough weekend here. Tom stayed home sick with a stomach bug on Friday, and I am sooo not a nurse! By Saturday, younger DD had it, too. None of the sewing I thought I'd be getting done got done.
And then, I saw the pictures of this quilt! I am beyond excited, and can't wait to see it. Now if we can get some weather cool enough to bind it, I'll be able to give it to Katherine when we see her this summer.
