    What a treasure!

(and what a shame the family of this quilt didn't want to save and preserve it for the future----I'm just glad it found a good home!)

But the brat was wrong- it's been years since I finished it lolol
I bought a top in an antique store once that was a basket design with embroidered flowers in the basket. It was probably 1930's or40's. It was set together with the brightes bubble gum pink squares you ever did see. I finished it, hand quilted, and it is very pretty. I love the old quilts. I didn't change anything in it and the original quilter must be pleased because I've had no "hauntings".
lololol, well neither did I :D OMG you paid 4.00 for that??? Incredible!!!!!!!!!! It will now be appreciated !! :D

You will probably have to wait a long time before I can post pictures of the finished product. I have several projects in front of the line and it takes me a long time to hand quilt. I have some of my Grandmother's block that I have made into tops that need to be finished. The stack keeps growing. I better get to work!!!

Hand stitched but in need of some TLC. I think someone has washed it before finishing and some of the seams have come apart. I think I can fix the seams, if not I have plenty of vintage fabric to replace some blocks. Whichever, it is going to be a PROJECT! But I believe it will be well worth the effort. If I can repair it I will hand quilt it. Thanks for looking.
Really a great find. Good luck on the repairs.

I also found a picture of a Trip Around the World. I think this is small blocks of this pattern set together individually with sashing. I don't know if there is a separate pattern name for this variation or if the quilter just decided she wanted to do it this way. Whichever, the more I look at it the better I like it. It may have to get moved up the line of my tops waiting to be quilted.
