    Hand pieced & hand quilted, over 1000 hexagons, I used Quilt Pati's plastic templates. It took 10 years to complete, but of course there were many months that went by that it didn't see the light of day.

    At the time I started it I didn't care for the 30's & 40's prints that are traditional for GFG, so decided that I would use brighter colors. I grew to love the 30/40's prints & came to wish that I had used them instead. Doubt I will ever make another...

    It's beautiful. I am working in one now and it is all red and white. Still have long way to go on it.

    What a great story behind that quilt and I think it is a wonderful family heritage piece to pass on from generation to generation. Make sure that the family knows the story behind that quilt. Congrats on finishing it, it is lovely.... :thumbup:
