    I wouldn't cut the panel at all.
    I would build around it to make a quilt or a comforter (duvet) cover...
    Your hubby gets an A+

    Simply gorgeous fabrics... I don't know that I would cut them up either...but if you do, I'd do something like the crazy quilt as Moonpi suggested...
