    Great score!!

And thanks for posting ... I have several house blocks made from that same pattern ... and they have sat and sat and sat as I didn't think I wanted to see all of them in one quilt. I think you just gave me a solution!!

Terrific save of a great small quilt! Now it is at your home where it will be loved and used!

Wow that's pretty. I can't believe people just "get rid" of treasures like this...but I'm glad you recognized it for what it's worth...

I think that is where my quilts will end up. That is one reason I quilt with any fabric that seems decent and not always LQS quality.

Think of the work that was put into this quilt! I counted 14 appliqued blocks.

Good find, lucky you! Sometimes I think these items are there because the former owner didn't have anyone to pass along too, or something may have happened and someone else came in and just moved items out. Which is sad.

It is a very nice little quilt, and thank you for saving it. I do however know how a lot of homemade quilts end up in places like Goodwill. My local Ministry center is a lot like Goodwill. I once went there to donate a bunch of clothes that my boys had outgrown. While I was there, I saw a lady walk up with a stack of homemade quilts that she was donating. The quilts were all brand new, and made by the lady donating them. I asked her why she donated them, and she told me that she simply enjoys quilting and making quilts. However, she has more than she needs at her home so she donates them for the Ministry center to sell and get money from for their food bank, etc. The lady who makes the quilts is Minnonite...they are sort of like the Amish and her quilts were beautiful.
