Too cute! What type of sewing machine is that? My old eyes think they read Janome, but not sure. I've not been impressed with the "child" machines I've looked at, but that looks like it is a cut above what I've seen. How does it perform? Isn't it great to know that you are passing on such a wonderful tradition to the next generation? My grand daughter (11 at the time) spent a week w/ me this summer and she made a 9 patch ragged edge pillow. She was involved in every step of the process from selecting fabric right down to clipping the seams. Must admit that allowing her to handle the rotary cutter was a bit scary, but I made her wear a Klutz glove and she could only use my small blade rotary cutter. We did alot of things together that week, but when asked what was her favorite part it was "learning to sew". Gotta love it!

Nita-It is a Janome-Hello Kitty model. Your eyes are good! It is a great little sewing machine. I bought it at the quilt show in Nashville last year. Show special-I think it was about $50. I have seen one very similar to it for sale at a Super Target store. It is Katelyn recommended and gets two thumbs up from her

What a sweetheart! My grandmother was a great inspiration for me too. I hope she comes to love it as much as I do!

Those pictures really put a smile on my face!

First of all Katelyn is precious and doing such a good job.

I had bought my granddaughter a Janome Barbie....and NOT been happy at all with it. The tension was difficult, that was two years ago. She is nine now so I think I am just going to let her sew on one of my machines, I think it will be less stressful for me.

Can't wait to see Katelyn's finished quilt.

That is just the cutest thing, to see that little girl sitting at that little table so engrossed in what she is doing. I hope I get good enough at quilting so if I one day have a granddaughter I can teach her also.
