    Hi All
I was in touch a few months ago to ask about how to make a Grandmothers Choice block, as I was making my Grandma a quilt for Christmas. Well I thought you might like to see the finished result.

Its got a Dresden Plate, because its pretty, and I made it before I planned the rest. The Grandmothers Choice and Grandmothers Flower Garden are obvious, although she did used to be good in the garden too though.

The Card Trick is since she like playing cards, The Maple Leaf because we went with my parents to Canada a few years ago, and Sarahs Favourite, since my name is Sarah.

The Friendship Star is also fairly obvious, the freestyle applique is based on a scrabble board, which she loves playing, and the Chimneys and Cornerstones since its the traditional one for home and family. (I read Jennifer Chiaverini!).

Im aware some of the blocks have other names, or that the same name can also mean another block, but these are the names I worked with and why.

    Hope you like it
    Sarah

How special is that!!! It's absolutely wonderful that you put so much thought and love into your gran's quilt! What a beautiful gift from a wonderful grandaughter. You did a beautiful job!!! I really like the scrabble board...so very clever!

What a beautiful and thoughtful quilt. I hope that you attached a label saying what each block is and why you chose it. You are a very loving granddaughter and I know your Grandmother will really charish it. Thanks for sharing.
