I have been working on one similar to this. How many blocks across and how many down. With 51 states the rows will not fit. Did you use some of the blocks twice or fill in with just a picture of a flower. How wide are the sashing strips and how big are the blocks. What size of quilt does this make. Lots of questions but I am just wondering how to finish mine when I am done with the embroidery work.

Jeanette that is gorgeous!! I just finished similar blocks with 50 state flowers. What size are your blocks? I'm trying to figure how to set 50 blocks when some are vertical and some are horizontal! How did you set yours? If I do a 7 x 7 layout, what state goes on the back? I thought I would make some kind of center block with maybe the flag or something to make it work out. But I think, it will be a UFO for awhile.

Love the hand work! How fun to have an heirloom like this in one of your bedrooms. Make sure you show us the finished room when you get it back.
