    These blocks are totally embroidered to include the quilting before the blocks are joined together. So the quilting is all part of the elaborate embroidery program.

    Your fabric choices are great--love the piece and quilt as you go. That certainly isn't for the faint at heart. I really like using my embroidery machine for something more than putting a design on a pocket. You did a beautiful job.

    So true. I was surprised at the cost but that is probably what inspired me to soldier on and finish it. The battilizer was crazy expensive so I kept all of the scraps and finished 14 of the blocks with franken-battilizer. No way I was going to throw any of it away. I have enough left to make another small Hoopsisters quilt so that makes it a little less costly.

    That is absolutely beautiful, vibrant colours look rather Mexican and the quilting is exquisite
