    "calmer" backing - opposite of the wild top - :)

    more specifically, one fabric only, something with a small all-over print, less intense colors

    That is definitely a bright quilt. It looks like you had a lot of fun. :-D I would say go with your hubby's favorite color on the back and when he uses it he can use it with the back facing up and when you use it, you can use it with the front facing up; sort of a compromise between you two. Would that work?

    Let us know what you decide and how he reacts. I'm completely curious!
